Columbine Hybrid Mckana's
Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost. Use a well-draining seed-starting mix. Press the seeds gently onto the surface of the soil, as they need light to germinate. Do not cover the seeds with soil.
Germination: Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature of 65–70°F (18–21°C). Germination usually takes 2–3 weeks.
Transplant: Once seedlings have several leaves and the danger of frost has passed, harden them off and transplant them outdoors. Space plants about 12–18 inches apart.
Sunlight and Care: Columbines thrive in partial shade and prefer well-drained soil. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging. Mulching helps retain moisture and keep weeds down.
Columbine Hybrid McKana’s offers a stunning variety of large, vibrant flowers in shades of red, pink, purple, and white. These hardy perennials attract pollinators like bees and hummingbirds and are ideal for borders, woodland gardens, or cutting gardens.
