Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep in seed trays or pots filled with well-draining, fertile soil. Keep the soil warm (70°F - 80°F/21°C - 27°C) and moist until germination, which takes 7-14 days. After the last frost, and once the soil has warmed to at least 60°F (16°C), transplant seedlings outdoors in a sunny location with well-draining soil. Space plants 18-24 inches apart to allow for proper growth. Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer to support strong growth and fruit production. Prune suckers and lower leaves to improve airflow. Harvest when the tomatoes are fully ripe and golden-yellow, typically 70-85 days after transplanting.
