African Marigold ‘Crackerjack Mixed’ is a tall, upright annual marigold that produces large, attractive double flowers in a mixture of warm yellow, golden and orange shades. It is an excellent choice for flower beds, borders, containers and cut flowers. African marigolds generally prefer full sun, fertile soil and good drainage.

The Crackerjack Mixed type is known for its taller growth, making it particularly useful as a colorful background plant or for creating a strong display in larger containers and garden beds. Under suitable conditions, it can begin flowering around 10–12 weeks after sowing.

For the Gulf area:

• Gulf region: September–April
• Kuwait: Best from October–March
• Avoid sowing during the extreme summer heat.

• In the hottest Gulf areas, early morning or late afternoon planting and temporary protection from intense sun can help young seedlings establish.

🌿 How to Sow the Seeds

1. Choose a sunny location with good drainage.
2. Prepare loose, fertile soil and remove large stones or debris.
3. Sow the seeds approximately 0.5–0.7 cm deep.
4. Cover lightly with a thin layer of fine soil.
5. Water gently after sowing.
6. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged until germination.
7. Seeds can usually germinate in approximately 5–10 days under warm conditions around 21–29°C.
8. Once seedlings have several true leaves, thin or transplant them to allow adequate space.
