African Marigold ‘Sierra Orange’ is an attractive annual marigold producing bright orange flowers above aromatic, dark-green foliage. African marigolds are excellent for flower beds, borders, containers and cut flowers. They prefer full sun and fertile, well-drained soil.

As with other Tagetes erecta varieties, Sierra Orange is best grown during the milder part of the Gulf growing season. Extreme heat can slow growth and reduce flowering, so timing is particularly important in Kuwait and the hotter Gulf areas.

• For the best results, sow during the cooler and milder months.

🌿 How to Sow the Seeds

1. Choose a sunny location with good drainage.
2. Prepare loose, moderately fertile soil.
3. Sow the seeds approximately 0.5–0.7 cm deep.
4. Cover lightly with fine soil.
5. Water gently after sowing.
6. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged until germination.
7. Marigold seeds generally germinate in about 4–7 days when temperatures are around 24–27°C.
8. Once seedlings develop several true leaves, thin or transplant them.
9. Allow approximately 30–45 cm between plants for African marigolds, particularly for larger varieties.

Sierra Orange can be grown in containers.
