🗓️ When to Sow

• Indoors: Start 6–8 weeks before your last expected frost.

• Outdoors: Direct sow after the last frost, when the soil is warm and dry enough to work.

🌿 Indoor sowing is preferred for earlier blooms and stronger starts.

🌱 How to Sow Indoors (Recommended)

1. Containers & Soil

   • Use seed trays or small pots with fine-textured, well-draining seed-starting mix.

2. Sowing Depth

   • Sow seeds ¼ inch (6 mm) deep.

   • Lightly cover with fine soil and press gently.

3. Watering

   • Mist to moisten soil without disturbing seeds.

   • Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy.

4. Temperature

   • Ideal germination temperature: 18–21°C (65–70°F).

   • Germination usually takes 7–14 days.

5. After Germination

   • Move seedlings to bright light or grow lights.

   • When seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, transplant to larger containers if needed.

   • Harden off before transplanting outdoors.

🌱 Direct Sowing Outdoors

1. Location

   • Full sun; well-drained, moderately fertile soil.

2. Soil Prep

   • Rake smooth and moisten lightly before sowing.

3. Sowing

   • Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, spaced thinly.

   • Thin to 6–10 inches (15–25 cm) apart when seedlings are large enough to handle.
