Sow Indoors: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Use a light, well-draining seed-starting mix and scatter the seeds on the surface of the soil. Lightly press them in but do not cover, as they need light to germinate.
Germination: Keep the soil consistently moist and maintain a temperature of 65–70°F (18–21°C). Germination typically takes 10–21 days.
Transplant: Once seedlings are large enough to handle and the risk of frost has passed, harden them off and transplant outdoors. Space plants about 10–12 inches apart.
Sunlight and Care: Carnations prefer full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly, but ensure the soil is not waterlogged. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new flowering.
Carnation Mix Chabaud offers a beautiful blend of fragrant, large flowers in a range of colors, ideal for borders, containers, or cut-flower gardens.
