1. Seed Preparation

Orchid seeds are dust-like and cannot grow in soil.

They must be sown on sterile orchid flasking medium (agar-based).
-
If you do not have a lab setup, it is recommended to send seeds to a flasking service.
2. Ideal Temperature (Gulf Area)

Day: 24–28°C
-
Night: 18–22°C
-
Avoid temperatures above 32°C, especially during germination.
3. Humidity & Light

Humidity: 70–85%
-
Light: bright filtered light, no direct sun.
-
Use a humidity dome or mini greenhouse.
4. Sowing Method

Sterilize seeds using weak bleach solution (1–2%) for 3–5 minutes, then rinse with sterilized water.

Inside a sterile environment:

Open flask or jar with orchid medium.

Sprinkle seeds gently onto the surface.
-
Seal tightly.

5. Germination Time
-
6–12 weeks to form protocorms.
-
Seedlings stay in flasks for 9–12 months.
6. Deflasking & Growing
-
Remove seedlings only when they have 2–3 roots at least 2 cm long.

Pot in a mix of fine bark + sphagnum moss.
-
Keep humidity high (70%) for the first 2–3 weeks.

Gradually introduce stronger light.
