1. Sowing Indoors or Outdoors:

   - Indoors: Start seeds indoors about 6-8 weeks before the last frost.

     - Sow seeds on the surface of a well-draining seed-starting mix, lightly pressing them down (do not cover them with soil as they need light to germinate).

     - Keep the soil moist, and maintain a temperature of 65–70°F (18–21°C). Germination usually takes 7–14 days.

   - Outdoors: Directly sow seeds outdoors in early spring, after the last frost, or in late summer for a fall harvest.

     - Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep, and space them 6–8 inches apart in rows or scatter them in a more natural style.

2. Sunlight and Soil:

   - Sunlight: Dwarf Dill 'Compatto' needs full sun to partial shade. It requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.

   - Soil: Dill grows best in loamy, well-draining soil that is slightly acidic to neutral (pH 6.0–7.0). It can tolerate poor soil but will thrive in a rich, fertile mix.

3. Watering:

   - Dill prefers regular moisture, so keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging.

   - Water the base of the plant to avoid wetting the foliage, which can promote disease.

4. Care:

   - Thinning: Thin seedlings to about 6-8 inches apart to allow for good air circulation and prevent overcrowding.

   - Mulch: Apply a light mulch around the plants to keep the soil moist and help suppress weeds.

   - Pinching: Pinch off any flowers that form early in the season to encourage leaf growth.

5. Harvesting:

   - For fresh dill leaves, harvest the fronds when they are young and tender, about 6–8 inches tall. Cut the leaves as needed, leaving the plant to continue growing.

   - If you want to harvest seeds, let the plant bloom and produce seed heads. When the seeds turn brown, cut the seed heads and allow them to dry before storing.

6. General Tips:

   - Dill can attract beneficial insects like ladybugs and butterflies, which can help control pests in your garden.

   - Dwarf Dill 'Compatto' is compact and perfect for container gardening, small herb gardens, or even on windowsills.

Dwarf Dill 'Compatto' is a slow-growing, compact variety of dill that's ideal for gardeners with limited space. It offers the same aromatic flavor as regular dill but in a more manageable size, making it perfect for containers and small herb gardens.
