🌱 Best Sowing Time

• Gulf: October–February.
• Kuwait: November–January is the preferred sowing period.
• A second suitable period is February, provided temperatures remain moderate.
• Avoid sowing during June–August.
• Ideal germination temperature: approximately 20–25°C.

🌿 How to Sow the Seeds

1. Use a light, fertile, well-drained seed-starting mix.
2. Moisten the medium before sowing.
3. Sow seeds approximately 0.3–0.5 cm deep.
4. Cover lightly with fine soil or vermiculite.
5. Water gently with a fine spray.
6. Keep the medium slightly and consistently moist, but never waterlogged.
7. Place the seed tray in a bright, warm location with good airflow.
8. Germination generally takes around 1–3 weeks, although some seeds may take longer.
9. After germination, provide strong light to prevent weak, elongated seedlings.

🌱 Transplanting

• Transplant when seedlings have developed several true leaves and a healthy root system.
• Harden seedlings gradually before planting outdoors.
• Space plants approximately 1–1.5 m apart.
• Choose a sunny location with excellent drainage.
• If growing in containers, use a pot at least 30–40 cm wide and deep for a young plant.

• During very hot weather, approximately 30–40% afternoon shade can help reduce heat stress.

• Excellent drainage is particularly important in humid coastal Gulf areas.

• During extreme summer heat, deep watering is preferable to frequent shallow watering.
