How to Seed Golden Columbine (Aquilegia chrysantha)

1. Sow indoors in late winter to spring (February–April), or outdoors in spring to early summer.

2. Use well-drained, fertile soil in partial shade or sun.

3. Sow seeds on the soil surface and press gently — do not cover deeply (they need light to germinate).

4. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged.

5. Germination takes 21–30 days at 15–20 °C.

6. Transplant seedlings outdoors when strong, spacing 30–40 cm apart.

7. Plants usually bloom from the second year after sowing.
