How to Seed Moss Rose Longbloom Double Mix (Portulaca grandiflora)

  1. Sow indoors in spring (March–April) or directly outdoors after the last frost.

  2. Use light, sandy, well-drained soil in full sun.

  3. Scatter seeds on the soil surface — do not cover, as they need light to germinate.

  4. Mist gently to keep soil moist until germination.

  5. Germination takes 10–14 days at 20–24 °C.

  6. Thin or transplant seedlings, spacing 15–20 cm apart.

  7. Water lightly — moss rose is drought-tolerant once established.

✨ Produces a brilliant mix of double rose-like blooms that flower over a long season, perfect for borders, hanging baskets, and ground cover.
