White Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus undatus), also known as White Pitaya, is a tropical climbing cactus that thrives in warm climates. It is well adapted to the Gulf region and grows successfully outdoors with protection from extreme summer heat during its early growth stages.

Best Planting Time

• Best sowing time in the Gulf:
  • March to May or September to November
• Avoid sowing during periods of extreme heat (above 40°C) or cold.

Seed Preparation

• Extract seeds from a fully ripe dragon fruit.
• Wash thoroughly to remove all fruit pulp.
• Air-dry the seeds for 24 hours before sowing.
• No cold stratification is required.

Soil Preparation

Use a light, fast-draining cactus mix.

Recommended mix:

• 40% Coco peat
• 30% Perlite or coarse sand
• 20% Compost
• 10% Garden soil

Sowing Method
