• Sterile Seeding: Orchid seeds are microscopic and lack food reserves. They must be sown in a sterile laboratory environment using nutrient-rich agar (e.g., P668 or MS medium) to prevent fungal contamination. Sowing directly on soil at home will not work.
• Cool Temperature: Maintain consistent indoor temperatures between 10°C and 22°C (50°F–72°F). Use air conditioning to prevent heat stress, which is fatal to this species.
• High Humidity: They require extremely high humidity, ideally 70% to 90%. Use an ultrasonic mist maker or a closed terrarium with a small fan to ensure air movement and prevent rot.
• Indirect Light: Provide low to moderate indirect light or filtered shade. Avoid direct Gulf sunlight, which will quickly scorch the delicate leaves.
• Pure Water: Use only distilled or rainwater. Keep the medium (sphagnum moss and perlite) consistently moist but never waterlogged.
