Poppy (American Legion) – Papaver rhoeas

• Sowing Time: Best from October to February at 15–25°C.

• Seed Prep: No soaking required; seeds are very fine.

• Soil: Use well-drained sandy loam soil enriched with organic matter.

• Sowing Depth: Scatter seeds on the surface and press lightly — do not cover.

• Light: Requires full sun for good flowering.

• Watering: Keep soil lightly moist until germination; then water moderately.

• Germination: In 1–2 weeks under mild temperatures.

• Care: Avoid transplanting; sow directly in final position.

• Blooming: Produces bright red poppy flowers with black centers in spring to early summer.
