How to Seed Pot Marigold ‘Dandy’ (Calendula officinalis)

Sowing Time:
Sow seeds indoors from March to May or directly outdoors from April to June. In mild climates, you can also sow in autumn (September–October) for early spring flowers. -
Sowing Depth:
Sow seeds 1–1.5 cm deep in moist, well-drained soil. Cover lightly and press gently. -
Soil:
Calendulas grow best in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost. They tolerate poor soil but bloom better in rich soil. -
Light & Temperature:
Place in a sunny or partially shaded spot. Ideal temperature for germination is 15–20 °C (59–68 °F). -
Germination Time:
Seeds usually germinate within 7–14 days. -
Transplanting:
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into the garden or pots, spacing 25–30 cm apart. -
