Zinnias perform well in warm climates, but extreme Gulf summer heat can reduce flowering. For Kuwait and much of the Gulf, it is best to grow them during the milder seasons.

• Gulf: February–April and September–November.

• A second good window is February–March.

🌿 How to Sow the Seeds

1. Use a light, fertile, well-drained seed-starting mix.

• Allow the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.
• Avoid overhead watering whenever possible, as wet foliage can encourage fungal problems.
• Add compost before planting.
• Feed with a balanced flowering fertilizer during active growth if needed.
• Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can encourage leaves rather than flowers.
• Pinch young plants when they are around 15–20 cm tall to encourage branching and more flower stems.
