🌱 Best Sowing Time
- Gulf: September–January.
- Kuwait: October–November is the preferred sowing period.
- A second suitable period is January–February if temperatures remain mild.
- Avoid sowing outdoors during the extreme summer heat.
- Ideal germination temperature: approximately 18–22°C.
🌿 How to Sow the Seeds
- Use a light, fertile, well-drained seed-starting mix.
- Moisten the growing medium before sowing.
- Sow seeds about 0.3–0.5 cm deep or press them gently into the surface and cover very lightly.
- Water gently using a fine spray.
- Keep the medium consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Place the seed tray in a bright location with mild temperatures.
- Germination generally takes around 7–14 days.
- Once seedlings emerge, provide plenty of light to encourage compact growth.
🌱 Transplanting
- Transplant when seedlings have developed 2–3 sets of true leaves.
- Harden seedlings gradually before planting outdoors.
- Space plants approximately 20–30 cm apart.
- Choose fertile soil with excellent drainage.
- Avoid damaging the young roots during transplanting.
☀️ Growing & Care
- Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade.
- In the Gulf, provide morning sun and afternoon shade as temperatures increase.
- Soil: Loose, fertile, organic-rich, and well drained.
- Watering: Keep the root zone moderately moist, especially during establishment and flowering.
- Avoid both prolonged dryness and waterlogging.
- Apply compost before planting and a balanced flowering fertilizer during active growth.
- Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can encourage leaves rather than flowers.
- Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage additional blooms.
🌸 Flowering
- Flowering commonly begins around 10–14 weeks after sowing, depending on the particular variety and growing conditions.
- Because “Tricolor Daisy” can refer to different daisy-type seed selections, flower color, plant height, and exact flowering time may vary.
- Cooler temperatures generally encourage better flowering than intense Gulf heat.
🌡 Gulf Climate Tips
- For Kuwait, October–November is the best starting period.
- During warmer weather, provide approximately 30–50% afternoon shade.
- Protect young plants from hot, dry winds.
- Mulch lightly around established plants to help retain moisture and moderate soil temperature.
- Water preferably in the early morning.
- Ensure good air circulation, particularly in humid coastal areas.
- During extreme summer temperatures, flowering may decline considerably.
Tip: In Kuwait, sow Tricolor Daisy in October–November for strong establishment during mild weather and attractive flowering through the cooler season.
