1. Sterile sowing method (required) Orchid seeds are dust-like and must be germinated in sterile flask culture using an orchid nutrient medium (MS medium or Phytamax). – Sterilize seeds using 10% bleach for 8–10 minutes. – Rinse thoroughly with sterile water.
2. Sowing – Spread seeds on top of sterile agar medium, do not cover. – Keep flasks sealed at all times.
3. Temperature & Humidity (Gulf Area) – Ideal temperature: 22–28°C – Humidity inside flask: 100% – Avoid direct sun—place in bright filtered light.
4. Germination Time – Seeds sprout in 4–12 weeks. – Seedlings become ready for deflasking in 6–9 months.
5. After Deflasking (Acclimatization) – Move seedlings to orchid bark + sphagnum moss mix. – Keep humidity 70–80% for the first month. – Water daily (light misting). – Provide medium light and warm airflow.
6. Outdoor Care in Gulf Area – Grow in shade 60–70%, never direct sun. – Summer heat: keep plants in cool shaded area with daily misting. – Water every 1–2 days in summer, every 2–3 days in winter. – Fertilize weakly every 10–14 days.
